I have a few STD sets, a set of GPZ UNI and some Norris cycle .407 for the Café racer but nothing spare at the moment.
The Uni ones are going in the 1428 along with the bigger valve Uni head.
If you find some Uni ones you should go to shim under bucket too.
You should Join the Z1 OWNERS GB where my project links are and post a wanted ad.
I know there were a couple of members who had some POPY - Yoshimura cams that may be for sale.

Thinkig about doing the J or GPZ swap!
but just heard the z1r had a better grind than the std one!?!?
I am running a 1075cc with stock cams and it runs very strong. I had the head ported and clearanced for larger cams, but never got around to getting them. Although I know it would run even better with cams, I'm happy with the way it runs with the stock ones. You could always run your stock ones and if you wanted more, then get bigger cams.

Ran mine up to 8500 rpms(not enough room around here to really air it out) just taking it around my small town the other day. She runs great down low as well. It had plenty left in her.

The head needs doing first as it will then flow more cfm per mm of valve lift even with std cams, larger valves will obviously increase this flow.LarsLykkegaad wrote: Zed1015- Do you know of any places in Europe who Does the Heads

You could fit a later 'J' head which already has larger valves and inlet tracts , you will need an APE idler tower conversion but you will lose 2 points off compression due to the larger combustion chamber so that would need addressing.
I do my own heads etc but it takes more time than it should as I haven't got all the specialist equipment a dedicated tuner does.
If I wanted one of my heads done over here i would send it to ROGER UPPERTON ( you may have heard of him ? ) who lives in LEEDS ,ENGLAND ( Around 60 miles from the port of Hull) He is world famous for championship winning tuning work etc .

Have heard the name but not more than that!
Reason why i choose the A model is that in my opinion its one of the most beautiful R4 engines ever made, so dont really want the J head cause its to squared etc etc
But just Youtubed a bit about porting and think ill try to make a light version of that, and if anyone have pictures of how they did or to do, they are more than welcome to post...or give some tips!!!!
Another thing- do you clean out the crank house to minimize the under compression between the cylinders??

Just fit a few extra breathers where you can to reduce pumping losses and the chance of oil leaks.
