Been a year since i worked on one, gotta take the footpeg off, shifter, sprocket cover and check to make sure theres no bolts left in it.
Cover has two locator pins on it, they could be holding you up, spray some penetrant around the gasket and tap around with a soft faced hammer, the gasket and the pins are holding you up more likely than not.
Make sure you have a drain pan down to catch the oil

Definitely have all of the bolts out. My bike isn't stock so nothing is in the way. Oil is already dropped. All the other covers are off. And I tried a hammer.
I guess a better question is whether shooting PB Blaster on it will fuck up anything inside?
I doubt this has been off, ever. So It probably is just stubborn but I didn't know if there was a special trick since all of my other covers came off so easy.

Nothing in there should be affected, gasket is probably petrified, you can slice into it carefully with a razor blade and try to get space to gently pry it away. Just work your way around it and it'll move

I thought on mine there was a gap at the lower right where wires come through? You might be able to gently pry there to get it to move if yours has the same.

You do understand that there are several big ole magnets on the rotor that are trying to keep the cover on, right? In other words, the cover will not just fall off, it has to be pulled.

The locator pin was jammed up to all hell with corrosion. Took some decent prying to get it off. Too bad I couldn't save the gasket on it. Oh well.

Tried to post, but got an error. Sorry if this is a repeat. Anyway, should the locator/guide pins "normally" come out easily? i.e. no sealant or Loctite-like stuff? Mine don't budge and I already damaged one trying to remove it. They are stuck in the engine case.

As long as the pins are in either the cases or the cover you'll be fine they dont need sealed in or anything, they just have nowhere to go

Ok, thanks. Looks like I'll need heat or Liquid Wrench to loosen it up.
