Cover has two locator pins on it, they could be holding you up, spray some penetrant around the gasket and tap around with a soft faced hammer, the gasket and the pins are holding you up more likely than not.
Make sure you have a drain pan down to catch the oil

I guess a better question is whether shooting PB Blaster on it will fuck up anything inside?
I doubt this has been off, ever. So It probably is just stubborn but I didn't know if there was a special trick since all of my other covers came off so easy.

I doubt it, but I use liquid Kroil and an eye dropper which let's you apply it only where you want it to go.JonnyNY wrote: I guess a better question is whether shooting PB Blaster on it will fuck up anything inside? .

JonnyNY wrote: The locator pin was jammed up to all hell with corrosion. Took some decent prying to get it off. Too bad I couldn't save the gasket on it. Oh well.
Tried to post, but got an error. Sorry if this is a repeat. Anyway, should the locator/guide pins "normally" come out easily? i.e. no sealant or Loctite-like stuff? Mine don't budge and I already damaged one trying to remove it. They are stuck in the engine case.

floivanus wrote: As long as the pins are in either the cases or the cover you'll be fine they dont need sealed in or anything, they just have nowhere to go
Ok, thanks. Looks like I'll need heat or Liquid Wrench to loosen it up.
