Is there a better model or year of oil pumps for the KZ1000 for my 1327 project?

your stock oil pump will be fine just make sure to take it apart and make sure its in good condition an oil pan gate would be a good addition.

All the oil pumps from the Z9 up to the GPZ1100 etc are basically the same pump and all flow the same at the same pressure.
Just check the internals for wear and scoring etc and maybe fit a thinner gasket to tighten up the side clearances.
Obviously a pump from a later year MAY have less wear on it but that all depends what sort of use and abuse that particular bike was subjected too.
There are higher flow performance pumps available which flow around 40% more.
Turbomaxx in Germany make a billet one which needs a deep sump or pan extender to be fitted.

turbomax looks to be great, but $1700.00 U.S. plus ship.........is too rich for me....need to hit the lotto :woohoo: :woohoo: still a neat pump/ pan extension.
I guess that would be cheap if you had a oiling problem and lost a lot of engine and or turbo parts :dry:
