exhaust flanges

I have a kerker elr pipe with the welded on collars and captured flanges. The captured flanges are a real pain to get past the frame tubes. Will the 2 piece flanges from the newer style bikes work if i cut the captured flanges off and weld a lip to the collar for the flange to push on. thanks

As long as the collar is the right length, and the pipes are the same diameter, then seems to me like it will work.
