'82 KZ1000K2 LTD - Oil leak top of crankcase

Hi all,

Doing some post-ride polishing, I noticed some oil near the starter cover. The engine was still hot so I really couldn't do a lot of poking around. Where are some common spots to check/tighten in the area?

There are 3 o-rings under the adapter for the oil sending unit. These leak. 2 are the same size with 1 smaller o-ring around the bolt. Also 1 o-ring for the sending switch.

The Oil sender pressure switch area was my thought also :)

Should be an easy fix, just a 6mm allen wrench to remove the bolts.

Replaced the o-rings today, along with a missing washer. The old o-rings had hardened to the consistency of plastic, the new ones are nice and pliable. Had a helluva time getting the allen bolts loose - took a lot of time, patience, penetrating oil and finally a little extra leverage to break 'em free. Looks great now, did a quick test and all looks dry. Thanks all!

Z1 had some, but unfortunately not all of the parts, so I ordered them from BikeBandit. It was about $20 for the lot.
