Here is the lowdown on JIS screws and instructions for modifying Phillips bits so they will work in these screws. Follow these instructions and you will have more success:

You really need to throw the WD40 in the trash; it will not serve as a good penetrating oil, lubricant, or contact cleaner. About the only thing it works well at is removing gummy price labels from REAL penetrating oil containers. Kroil can be ordered from Kanolabs.com Here's the scoop:
