670B1508 is only 8mm in diameter.
Thanks, Dr. Gamma!

Edited accordingly.

One thing I've learned over the years is to not replace parts that are not causing problems. Orings are on this list, mostly if not exact Kawasaki part. The oring on the filter bolt will last 100,000 miles, no need to change unless it's leaking.

Agreed with you on the o-rings.
I can't even remember the last time I replaced the o-ring on the filter bolt. When I change the filter, I never pull the filter bolt out from the filter cover. I wash both off in the Safety Kleen machine, oil the rubbers on the filter and twist the filter down into place. You can't imagine how many people throw the little steel washer away when they change the filter!!! I use a few dabs of grease to hold the big o-ring in place for assembly.
I think most people damage the o-ring on the filter bolt because they don't lube the o-ring when they pop it into the filter cover.

Agreed, in 20 years, I think I have maybe replaced one, just out of curiosity. Still using it.
The only time I had a massive leak was when the large o-ring came out of the groove somehow while installing the filter.

Thats why I use the dabs of grease in the groove to keep the o-ring in place during installation.

Well, I took it back out, everything looked snug and was all there. Then I put the bolt through the plate first and there seemed to be plenty of friction.
I put it back on the bike and tightened it a little past snug--there was a loud snap. The plate had broken in half.
Looking for a new oil filter plate, and while I'm at it I'll order a decent O-ring from Z1.
It's a six mile round trip walking to the bus stop to get to work. Bummer.

That plate is the same on many motors, so there should be plenty around for cheap.

Thanks Patton!
I went ahead and ordered the cover from sbmotor.com (Southbay Motorsports) after reading some good reviews. I even called and talked to customer service and a very nice young lady double checked to make sure it was actually in stock.
I also ordered the correct 16mm O-ring and the right size flat washer from Z1 Enterprises, so I should be set. Oh yeah, time to pick up a new torque wrench so I don't crack the new cover. :S
Edit: the plate's okay, I cracked the cover (14025).
