Yeah I just need the machine work done. I am more than capable of assembly, cam timing, inspection, etc... The cost for this work including the rest of the parts not procured is $2200. Going to send it of to Joe once I finish my rear wheel fitment and no longer need the trans in place.

Yeap Joe Hooper did me a valve job and guides on my last 76 KZ900. I honed, replaced rings and rebuilt and sync'd my carbs after that. No problems with Joe on my end.

Joe does great work, he did all the engine work on my ELR clone then shipped the parts back to me to put together. Really happy with his work. His communicated really well and got right back to me with any questions I had. Highly recommended.

Dang he must have turned over a new leaf i guess. When i talked to him i had to call him for a week just to talk to him. I even tried after hours also, probably like ten times or more. Finninally had to send him a email to him. Then he yelled at me telling me it was my fault i didnt get a email that he susposely sent me. Its wierd i got the ebay emails and one email from him and all it said was "shipped today", I thought that was pretty shitty. The way i look at it. The money i spent on my motor, like little over 3 grand, and he dont even wanna talk to me to answer my questions i had. Then with the other previous deals i.e. cams i bought from him (years ago). It was going to be all thru him but after that i said fuck him. I called john pearson once, he answered talked to me longer than i needed. Made me feel really comfortable giving him my money. I dont think he does any advertising. Hes busier than heck to, so hes doing something right. Unlike someone that advertises all the time. Then treats you like shit when you try to give him work.

@ $2k, all depends on what you desire to have accomplished.... but close in $$$ anyways.

Piston kit w/bore (includes base and head gasket) ~ $700 +
1015cc install
1045 - 1075cc... Upper case cylinder bores need to be opened up.

Heavy duty cylinder bolts & nuts ~ $70
Possibly new Heavy Duty Main Bearing cap $100
Welded crank... $200
New bearings $60 each

Camshafts stock No costs
.365 - .410 ~ $400 new, $150 - $200 used
Cam sprockets $60

Don't skimp here for @ 60 k miles, yeah they'll need replacing
Timing chain components (guides, gears, rubber dampers etc....) all new, ~ $300 +...

Head work, basic valve job with new guides, seals ~ $500 +
if porting valve job with new guides, seals, springs - $700 +

Gasket & seal sets complete ~ ~ $100

Carbs... if accomplishing the above, if they don't flow she won't go... Translation, stock carbs too small for the performance add another $500-700$ + pending used or new.

New intake manifolds $60
Pingel Sure Flow petcock $100

Electronic ignition coils and plate ~ $250.

How's the clutch components..., @ 60k miles, probably ready for replacement... all new plates (metal & fiber) & springs... $300

So you'll be somewhere around $2500 - $3000 pending what you desire in performance.
Shit adds up quickly on ya....

Just my 2 worthless cents...
