I'm wondering who made the left side exit 4 into 1 exhaust on my 1978 kz 1000 ? I don't recall seeing any badges or distictive things that would tell me. I'm no specialist in this field to begin with. The system is rusty and would need jet hot coated or something of that nature as it looks like shat now. Not sure if it's worth spending the money on or just getting a V&H 4 into 1 and being done with it.Do any of you guys remember who built the left side exit exhausts for the kz's????

This post has a bunch of pics of different exhaust systems that might give you some more info to work with. kzrider.com/forum/2-engine/271747-header-pics

IIRC there were several different exhaust makers that offered left hand side ones. Denco, Jardine and Alpha come to mind but I am pretty sure there were others as well.

What does the collector look like was it flat with 4 inlet pipes or was it 2 on 2 stacked. I remember the first 4into1 had a left side exit with a flat collector. I can't remember the name of the maker but it didn't look that great. Bill Wirges made the first 4into1 exhaust for the Z1 it had the ugly flat collector with a left side exit.

Unfortunately there is no end cap on this pipe. I looked for screw holes for an end cap end didn't see any, so I'm not sure how it would have been held on.
