Planning some exhaust changes.

I guess I'm gonna have to look at rejetting. I plan to keep the stock airbox, which I know is sort of unusual. It seems like most threads that come up when I search for info on rejetting, it always involves pods.

I currently have stock style aftermarket mufflers, like what JC Whitney sells. I am planning to switch to a pair of mufflers that have a straight through design with the baffle being around the outside.

With keeping the stock airbox, do I still need to rejet most likely? I'm thinking like the air/fuel mix has already been through the carbs before it reaches the "change".

You will probably need to up the main jet a size or possibly two if those are really straight through with little restriction.

They are Cherry Bomb glass packs. 8" body with an overall length of 12". 2in diameter. I will probably either run a large (1/2" or 5/8") bolt across the input opening to add some restriction/ turbulance, or maybe the lolli-pop trick with a washer on a bolt with a wing nut.

That is about as "straight through" as they come! Those ought to breathe pretty well...I've never heard glasspacks on an old Kaw...make sure and post some video (at least audio!)You're gonna scare little kids and old ladies! LOL!
