Starter clutch again? Really?

So I replaced the starter clutch five years and about 3,000 miles ago. Lately it has started acting like it is going out again. When I replaced it there was a broken spring so replaced the springs, rollers and caps. Is it common for these to go out again so quickly? I never thought I would have to do this after only a few thousand miles. Could the starter be failing and not causing it to spin it fast enough to get the weights moving? Or could it be I need to change the whole assembly I think it is part #13194?

It's possible that the starter clutch (the piece the rollers and springs sit in) or starter gear itself is worn - worn ones get notchy. If the starter gear is worn it can cause problems. Here are pics comparing a worn one to a new one. Ed

it's important to know that is not the only problem to cause the slippage, the actual starter clutch unit that the rollers sit in can get damaged in the tracks that the rollers run in... believe me i replaced the rollers, springs and gear and slipped just as bad as previously. When i replaced the actual unit it worked perfectly.
