I assume they are similar(if not the same) as my gpz- a steel sleeve with rubber molded to the outside. The caps could have squished the rubber to one side if the motor mounts were not snugged correctly at some time and allowed the engine to "twist" in the frame. I know years ago tollerances aren't what they are now and I had to put washers in between the frame and motor to get rid of gaps similar to that.chonus wrote: I didnt try tightening to see if it pulls in, i feel like it would just bend the other side in before it closed that gap. Do those motor mount "caps", if you will, crush? I havn't looked at them very thoroughly, but they dont look squashed. and I thought they were just rubberized steel spacers anyway

I ran into the same thing on Ponch. The U-shaped spacer fits that gap, specifically.chonus wrote: well, im still having the same problem. I have another frame (02 kzp) and I got new dampener caps, and I have the same gap issue. the book doesnt mention a spacer, but when I look on bike bandit, it appears there is a u-shaped spacer part no 92022a anyone have any thoughts? www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/19...m/o/m150522#sch85524
