So As some may know I managed to blow my motor last week.
I would like to know which engine I can drop in place that will fit this bike with not many headaches.
Or if anyone has a 750 motor for sale :laugh: :woohoo:

Other possibilities. ZR750 -->> ~91-93 Zephyr & ~2000-2002 ZR7/ZR7S (air cooled models).

As for horsepower, it seems like a ZR750 would be higher, but I checked one time & the ZRs are in the 75-78 range which is about the same as the KZ750. The ZR750 engine is based on the KZ750. The ignition system is probably different, but I'd guess that wouldn't be a problem. I mentioned the ZR because I'd like someone to try it, to confirm whether or not it can be done & how easy it will be.

Really, though, if you want more power get a KZ1000 and be done with it. While I really prefer my GPz over my 81 KZ750E, neither comes close to the power of my 83 GS1100E. No replacement for cubic centimeters.
Not sure where you are located, but there is an engine/frame for sale in Illinois, just north of Chicago, in the For Sale section of this forum.

There's a 750 engine listed for sale here on KZR. The VIN lookup a Kawasaki.com indicates that it is 82 KZ750-H3.
edit: frame reported sold; not sure about the engine which is missing the valve cover; if it is available, I would get more info about it... who knows what's wrong w it???

He just reported it sold.martin_csr wrote: True. But it may be cheaper to replace the engine than to buy a new bike. Plus, he'd be keeping one on the road.
