1000 gasket on 900

all, have been gone for a while, but am finishing up my 1015 bored 900, and I have a question.
Has anyone use 1000 one piece gaskets on a bored 900 with the center groove for the rubber? Reason I ask is Redline in Skokie builds all their bored 900's with the one piece by adding a bead of red rtv in the groove....any thoughts here? They say better as sometimes, the ring will shift in assembly, or something like that.

BTW, went to Advance Sleeve in ohio for the most recent work, fresh bore on another set of 900 jugs, decked and new rings gapped for my wiseco pistons, they did perfect work....rocked...

yes to your question... and i have used both rtv and epoxy to fill center o ring groove...worked :lol:

i use rtv to fill the groove on mine with no problems. If you need anymore work done in ohio i would john pearson from pearson racing a call. He treated me extremely well on everything ive ever took to him. His only downfall is hes a one man crew so hes pretty busy. But the work he does makes up for the time. Hes in west alexandria ohio. He does it all, welds and balances cranks, back cut trans, jug work and occasionally head work also.

epoxy! good idea....I sometimes am a little heavy on the rtv.....
