73mm J piston into Z1R engine was created by mrdatsunturbo
I got 4 almost new 73mm wiseco piston from a J engine 17mm pin,
will this work in my spare z1r engine ? and what compression will i get?
when i have this piston side by side and wrist pin into both piston ,
it look like the wiseco piston is 1mm taller.
So i want to use this with my ATP turbo set up and what size will it be on the spacer
below cylinder?
Thanks from Norway

Iam not sure that you will want to run those pistons in a kz bottom end. Like you stated the piston pin hole is taller on the j piston, which will create problems. What is the compression ratio on the pistons? You will want a lower compression ratio for turbo pistons. unless this is a drag strip bike only.

so i checked against wiseco catalogue today and it will not work on my
turbobike. compression is 10,25:1 stroke 66mm, bore 73mm on J engine kit.
The wiseco kit for Z1R is 10,25:1 stroke 65,93 bore 73mm so it will work on carb engine.
I am not shure ideal compression for bike but using plate below cylinder?? everything is possible
but higher compression then i need more fuel

The higher the compression means the hotter its going to run and it also creates more chamber pressures, which will limit you on the street. What some people do is run a j model head on it. It out flows a stock kz head and has larger valves and it will drop your compression by two points. I think ideal turbo compression is around 8 or 9 to 1, if i remember correctly.

I got a mail from APE about this and if i am doing 10psi boost ,then a spacer
on thikness 020 will do.
If i was doing up to 6psi then the 10,25:1 is good to go.
So i will try this recipt and also change to J head for more flow.
1105cc and turbo will be nice, i guess.
