If you're tapped out then you need to skip the 1100 stuff and find another J cylinder block.

The 1100 stuff would be cool, but it won't be cheap.

Like I said, the head and base gasket are different.
If you get the later GPZ, like everyone said the pistons/ pins are different.

I have a 1981 kz1000j and I am also putting 1981kz 1100 jugs on my 1000j bottom end.the only problem I might have I was told is .I might have to file the bottom end a little bit where the jugs slide in the block!!! i am using the kz1100 pistons with the 1100 base and head gasket.!!!! the question i have is the 1000j head going to bump up my compression?or will it be the same if i put the 1100 head on????another question i have does anybody know if the 1100 have a bigger cam then the 1000j?????????????
