miss fire

hi guys, engine has break up at 6500rpm- 1977 pods mac 4 into 1 stock electronic ignition.any idear on this? Thanks

1977 what model...?

Which carbs (26's, 28's, BS34's etc...)...?

Miss fire (ignition/electrical) or carbs falling on face...?

Since 4-1 exhaust and pods, what jetting changes were made...?

Carbs sync'd...?

Backfiring/popping out exhaust during deceleration or loss of power @ 6500...?

What do the plugs & strap look like (carbon(rich), white(lean), 50/50 on the strap etc...

In your first post you stated "stock electronic ignition." Your bike originally had points, not an electronic ignition. You may want to double check to see exactly what is on the bike. If it still has the stock ignition the points & condenser probably need to be replaced. Ed

Ed, I have changed out the points with a late model electronic unit.bike has a set of acell coils.the problem has been the same with all of the stock parts.

Have you tested resistance on the coils?
