Carb - Broken Choke Tube - Repair Options?

Carb No1 on my 1979 Z1000 Mk 11 engine has the choke tube broken off just below where it is fitted to the carb body. (This usually happens when the float bowls are removed and care is not taken to protect the exposed long thin brass tube.) Anyone had any luck repairing this type of damage? Thinking of either carefully drilling out the remaining stub and fitting another (where to get one??) or sweat soldering the broken bits together - need to ensure the repair doesn't block the flow of fuel! Maybe someone has a No 1 carb body they could sell me?

Brass tubing is often available at hobby shops.

That tube is a press fit. If you can get the remaining piece out, one can be sourced from a donor carb and pressed in. I did this on a z1 carb. If that tube is the same as a 77 or 78 KZ1000 carbs, I'm pretty sure I can provide one.

If I get a donor carb any ideas how to remove the tube without damage, given that it's a press fit ?

I've attached a couple of pics to help identify the carb and tube.

The hole in the tube its self is the Starter Jet. That supply's the mixture of fuel to the enrichment circuit when the choke is on. So that size needs matching. You can drill out that remainder, possibly just oversize for a new piece of tube from the hobby store. But you will need to drill the fuel jet size also, so you may need to purchase a small #'d set of drills. Replacement of the tube it pretty straight forward. Get the hole so its about .001" smaller than the new tube with a drill. Heat the carb body, and freeze the tube. It will go right in.
The new tube will be hollow its whole length, so you may need to solder the end shut, then drill the jet size.
