hey guys
just finishing up my build and now that I have it running I am noticing a good amount of smoke from the exhaust. The bike didnt seem to smoke when I bought it, but I only saw it run for a few minutes.
The only engine modifications were a different muffler. I have a video of it running if I can get it to post here.
where should I start? is there a way to determine if its just a fuel/air mixture. or if its something bigger like valve seals or piston rings?

You may want to perform a leak down test. That will help you determine if the smoke is coming from the valve area (could be valve seals) or the piston rings. Take a look near the bottom of the page in the link below. It gives a leak down test description. Ed

Is that 2 stroke Gas? Oil mixed?
Looks more like a possible ring problem than anything. Oil control rings, if bad, won't show on a compression or leak down test unfortunately. But I highly recommend both, a compression and leak down test. Find out the condition of the engine as much as you can before tearing into it.
