The .040 over rings are still an "Active" part so any dealer can order them.

Partzilla lists the rings at $46.40.

Double check the part numbers, but I think I show the right ones. Ed

Also the 750/4 is the same bore but with a 15 mm wrist pin.
Only thing to measure is the pin height to see if one of them matches.
900s usually get taken out to 70mm,1015 CC right away.
750s big bore is 69 mm,810cc and the 440 is the same pin height at a stock 67.5mm.

Doesn't make sense to repair unless you do it for fun.

I usually use bikebandit.comMotor Head wrote: There are some threads on it, but I don't know if its a direct swap. In this thread it still looks like a question. So do some research into the stroke, see if they share the same crank and con rod. kawasaki.com will have that info, in the parts diagrams click on the yellow question mark once you locate the part #. It all under "Owner Info"

With all due respect, I asked for information on pistons and rings, not an opinion on whether it was worth the rebuild or not. Putting another KZ back on the road is worth the $150 in parts to me. A beginner friend of mine offered to buy it to get started with motorcycling. Fun is what it's all about.
