I have it running pretty strong, starts every time, runs very strong up to about 60-65
so the couple things I am still seeing.
- I still seem like I am held up at like 60-65 I can get there in third gear easy, but seems like it cant give more after that.
- noticed there is some oil coming out of the exhaust. Rode yesterday and at a light I stalled out. I pulled the bike into a parking lot. and it start pretty easy, however when it did it blew a big cloud of oil and oil smoke out of the valve cover on the right side.
then bike ran fine all the way home (15 more miles) still can't get over 65.
I pulled the plug when I got home and it did not look oil ladden,
any thoughts?

Are the cam end plugs leaking?lucienmaier wrote: Rode yesterday and at a light I stalled out. I pulled the bike into a parking lot. and it start pretty easy, however when it did it blew a big cloud of oil and oil smoke out of the valve cover on the right side.

Bad valve seal/exhaust guide allows some blow-by pressure into the cam compartment during the exhaust stroke, creating excessive pressure within the engine. Part of it escapes past the cam-end plugs, and the rest goes out through the crankcase breather. On the down-stroke of that piston, a little oil is sucked past the guide, which gets blown out through the exhaust as the piston pushes upward again.

Last night I pulled the bike out into the driveway and let it run for a bit.
I was checking something else and my arm hit the pipes and they were cold.
I touched the right side pipes and they were hot.
1 & 2 were firing But 3& 4 were not.
The kid who had owned the bike before me had wired in coil backwards. I fixed the wires and 1,2 and 4 are now firing.
So here is my action plan.
1. I think 3 is just gunked up from sitting for who knows how long and riding 60+ miles without it firing correctly. So I am going (after work) to ride a bit and see if three clears out and start running.
2. If that does not work I will check compression, gas and spark on 3 and move forward from there.....
any ideas or thoughts are always appreciated
