KZ550 knocking noise! Video!!

Hi,

my KZ550 is running well but i recognized a knocking, tapping sound. I used a stethoscop and it seems loudest at the cam chain.
But i am not sure if its that.
Therefore i made a video:

I gonna pull the cam chain tensioner.

I agree with you that checking the tensioner is a good place to start. Also you might try snugging up the exhaust flange nuts in case of exhaust leak. Checking valve clearance might not be a bad idea.

Complete tune-up, including carb sync, usually helps minimize cam chain noise.

I hope it is not some crank bearing Carbs are ballanced. I gonna make a manual tensioner i think.

I think it needs a bath ,
And a GOOD, COMPLETE tuneup by someone who knows what they are doing.

I recognized its getting louder when the engine is totally warmed up.
