1978 kz650b by passing the kill switch was created by dragstripkz78
I just got another kz650b 1978, turns over good great compression all the light work but no spark. the kill switch and starter button are bad when I move the kill switch around I blow a fuse, I tore it apart there was a red/yellow wire and a black wire to the starter button. there is a brown wire and red/yellow wire going to the kill switch. what do I do to wire these in a way to temporarily by-pass the switch to see if that is the cause of no spark? thank you

The wiring diagram for your bike (see link) should help. In it they call the kill switch the "Engine Stop Switch." It's up near the top of the diagram. Ed
