Im assuming they're supposed to be perfectly straight right? I have two that are bent in identical ways and I just have to assume its a coincidence. also.. arent you supposed to be careful removing it. Ive heard the bearings inside can become dislodged

Yep, they should be straight, and the only bearing I think you mean, is a ball bearing, acting as a rotating pusher when the clutch lever is squeezed. A few riders have replaced the clutch pusher shaft from www.z1enterprises.com and others have used a drill rod blank(cut down to fit the correct length) I'd think 3/16" diameter drill rod would work, but check the diameter of your old push rod first. Most machine shop suppliers sell drill rod, as it's a precision made shaft. Some are oil hardening, others can be water hardened, or air hardening. Any of them would be needed to be heated to hardened.

Don't worry about the ball bearing falling out or ending up in the gearbox....it is trapped in the tunnel the clutch pushrod moves in which is through the input shaft and that is sealed off from everything. The only way to get to it is to take off the clutch outer plate. And yes the pushrod does have to be straight.

Good time to upgrade the pusher also to the roller bearing model. My pushrod was worn 1/4 inch short and had to pull it from the clutch side due to mushrooming.
