Valve Cover Bolts Torque Amount was created by mcguest12
How much do I torque the bolts to on the valve cover? I have to replace the gasket and don't want to overtorque the bolts.
Any help would be great.

According to the factory service manual, maximum torque is 69 in-lbs...assuming your motorcycle is the same as your avatar (KZ750-N model)

I believe yours are 6mm bolts like those on my KZ650 valve cover. The Kawasaki Service Manual calls for 61 - 78 INCH lbs. of torque. Be sure to use a torque wrench calibrated in inch pounds. Using a foot pound wrench and converting the torque to inch pounds is very risky because you will be at the very bottom of the wrench's scale and torque wrenches are not very accurate there. Ed
