Cam chain problem

My z500 sometimes has a noise which sounds like the cam chain when its started
but other times it starts and sounds really sweet with no chain noise at all
the tensioner is the automatic wedge type i did read on the forum that sometimes
It needs a reset

any help would be appreciated

you say when it started.
might be starter hanging up

it out. Rebuilt this bike a while back and its been bugger ever since
I think its heading for the SKIP
