i named the project the Nightrider after the Mad Max movie character, so lets remember the Nightrider when we look into the night sky!
well, my idea is to convert it to the chain drave using gear shafts and left cover from a chain driven Kz 750, or still better, from a GPZ750 Turbo, any one has those shafts and cover at hand to compare with mine?

Left covers off the 550, 650, 750 four and twin all fit, assuming you mean the trans cover.
650 and 750 engine cases interchange, but pre 81 650s have a kickstarter.

sure i mean the tranny cover, another coupla questions, shall i have to swap crancases or could keep mine? then, you said the shafts are the same, does it mean i can use my secondary shaft and fix a sprocket on to it, or perhaps its sprocket part is different and i'd need a replacement? thanks in advance bro!

i don't mind converting a bike to efi (and turbo lol)(and i did it a few times) but the shaft?! any bike fan would tell ya why: weight saving and wider tyre.. when i see a moto gp bike with the shaft drive then i'l undertand im stuck back in the 19th century

My motor builder is in the process of building a Flattrack racer using a Honda CX500 as the motor. He is turning the motor sideways in a custom (duh!) frame and converting from shaft to chain! Good luck with your project. Paul
