What exhaust are u running

I'm gonna buy a aftermarket exhaust in the very near future for my 1978 kz650d and I was wanting to know if one is clearly better than another. I'm looking at a Mac 4 into 1. But haven't ruled out a zx7 ehxaust. Any experience with any would b appreciated.

I've got a Mac 4 to 2 on my 77 kz650. Kinda funny, I got it used because it was the cheapest one I could find on fleabay at $100 shipped. My stock exhaust would spray rust when you'd rev the engine and I was running low on cash. Even though my selection process was crude, I love the way they look on the bike. I had to nix the center stand and I can't put highway bars on it because they don't follow the chassis lines close enough, but I still really dig them.

I'm running a 4-1 off a 2001 Kawasaki zr7s on my 78 650c2. The pipe mounts right up with no modifications on the header tubes. You do need to make a rear mounting bracket. I made mine to mount up to the rear passenger peg bolt. Overall, VERY pleased with it. Going this way, you can choose which can you'd like on it. I've got a Yosh short can on it, and I wouldn't change it out. Low grumble at idle, screams when you open it up.

Here's Andy-the-Gringos bike w ZR-7 exhaust. I think the ZR-7S is the same.

Martin hit that nail right on the head- that's basically my set up. But, the guy that had the header before me shortened the tail of the pipe a bit, and put on a yoshimura shortie can.

I'm doing a front/rear swap right now, so the bike is pretty stripped down. When it's all back together, I can post. Or, check my build thread to see what it's like a little shorter and with a shortie can.

I'm running a V&H 4-1 on my 650 SR. It sounds great especially when you're on the pipe.

Also you'd need to re-jet after the swap to keep it from leaning out the mixture.

My stock baffles were rotted out and causing problems, so I cut them out and modified 2 Vance & Hines competition baffles to fit and made 2 brackets to attach them to the stock pipe. It sounds great, really roars when you get on it, and with a re-jet it runs great too.

I went with a DG Performance six into one.

Good to see that we still cannot post a pic unless we're using IE.
