So I pulled off the muffler on my KZ today and I couldn't say that I'm more happy with the sound. The 4-1 exhaust really gives it that low end muscle car idle, and once you ram on the throttle it easily turns into a screaming bat out of hell.

I noticed the lag in throttle response immidiatly so I pulled off the airbox and replaced it with a set of pod filters from my GS750. Now this thing is growling, and the response is about as good as it was before. Breaths easier too.

What do you guys think the power gain/loss is? I'd expect a loss but I just don't want to sacrifice that sound for a few horses.

it will sound good but you are gonna give up some bottem end, make sure to fatten up your carbs so you arent leaning it out.if its a kerker you are running i usually pull the baffle and reinstall the end cap .that way it helps the bottem end,but still sounds really good when ya jump on it.

I'd like to get some flat sides, but I don't know were I can find some good ones. I'm picking up a ZR1100 soon and It's going to break my heart if I have to sell my KZ :(
