I remember the Air Force base where my dad took me one time to their auto shop had some machines and they had jars with fingers next to each machine where they had been taken off. Also had a couple of pairs of safety glasses with the lenses broken that had stopped a flying piece of metal before it hit somebody's eye.

One thing nice about using a glass bead cabinet for cleaning valves.
