KZ550C3 oversize pistons was created by oldirtybob
Bike hasn't been running right, is old and sat for a long time. Compression test went as follows: #1 90 #2 90 #3 35 #4 145. Only running on one good cylinder. So I opened it up, there were slight horizontal ridges in the cylinders, presumably from where the rings were when the bike was sitting, they were in the same place on 1&4, 2&3. I lightly honed them and put in new rings. Things got worse, except for #4, which went up to 195 psi. Awesome, my one good cylinder got real good, my 3 shitty ones got real shitty. I don't have a cylinder bore mic, but placing the rings in the cylinders and measuring the gap in the rings with a feeler gauge shows they are out of spec, I dont remember exactly how much, but bad enough that I wasn't getting compression. Does anyone know what size the first and second oversize pistons are? and what size I need to have my cylinders bored out to? Im already out the money I spent on rings, and want to get this thing back on the street without spending any more than I have to.

The pistons in question are kawisaki, not wiseco

13027-1053 PISTON-ENGINE-LL, Your Price: $44.59

13025-1010 RING-SET-PISTON-L, Your Price: $30.14
13029-1055 PISTON-ENGINE-L, Your Price: $39.08

I believe L is the first oversize with LL being second oversize.
All are still available from Kawasaki, the prices came from ronayers.com

Plus shipping of course.

I think the L is .25mm over and the LL is .5mm, that's .010" and .020" respectively.
Take or ship the block to someone that bores motorcycle cylinders, along with the pistons you plan to use. Might as well go with the biggest oversize to be on the safe side, or have a machinist check out the bore and tell you what size to get.

You talking about boring the cylinder's means your Kaw. pistons
will be junk after.

As for bore size I'd poke the biggest hole in it I could.
