650 exhaust on a 750? was created by geohaydook1
Will the exhaust from an SR650 fit my 750e? I haven't decided what exhaust to put on this boat anchor project (that is waaay down the road) but I like the "bag of snakes" and the shorter mufflers on the SR650 and my stock exhaust is rusty and crusty. Just wondering. Thanks.

They should bolt up to the head & you may have to fab up some muffler brackets, but center stand clearance may be an issue. The 750-4 mufflers have a recess for the stand, so I'd guess the center stand will bang the 650 pipes?
You'll need the half-moon exhaust collars from the 650.

A better fit might be KZ750-Ltd-4 or KZ650-CSR (the Ltd & CSR mufflers are the same). I put the exhaust system from a 750E onto my CSR - they were a direct bolt-on. The 650-CSR left side muffler has the center stand recess in the same spot. The half-moons are the same. I had to use the muffler brackets from the E, as the muffler angle is different. So you may need the muffler brackets from the Ltd or CSR.

Absolutely correct.
Some of the 650 pipes are larger in diameter than 750s between the head pipes and mufflers.
When I installed SR pipes on my '81E I had to cut and reweld as per what was posted by Martin.
I also removed the baffling and tucked them in closer to the frame for more clearence.
Which with the help of a jet kit still does'nt run quite right.

I have MAC 4-2 pipes on my bike that were originally on a KZ750 Spectre, bolted right on but the they bump out from the frame far enough that highway bars won't mount to the bike. That and I had to pull the center stand. When I was looking up the info on the MAC exhaust pre-purchase I noticed that it was one part number for all 650's and 750-4's. The brackets lined up pretty nicely too, didn't have to fab anything.
