KZ700 Idle Miss was created by Marklorenzo
Recently I had to put new coils on the 84 Kz700. Bike has always idled well after warm up but since coils its seems to stumble when sitting. Going down the road it runs like a champ. I have checked all connections and all seems good. Any suggestions? I had andrews yellow 3 ohm coils and went to dyna green 3 coils. Any ideas how I can figure this out.

Try adjusting your idle mixture screws. The new coils might either have a hotter spark or less spark so the plugs are reacting the new spark.

Make sure it's not something silly like a flakey kickstand switch or neutral switch, if you bike has the engine-kill feature when the bike is in gear with kickstand up.

Where are idle mixture screws located? I have one big nob inbetween all four carbs that adjusts the idle. Unfortunetly carbs are not my thing. Wish I knew more. But afraid to tear into them.

Check that you din't knock off the vacuum line to the Air Switching valve. Should be tee'd to the two outboard carbs, then up along under the tank to the valve. Or the vacuum line to the pet cock, #2 carb thats the inside on the left. Line goes up to the pet cock. #3 carb should have a vacuum cap.

My bike is set up where the two outboard carbs have lines coming off that just hang there. Not plugged into anything. The other two one goes to petcock and other is capped. Any ideas on that? I can update pics later

That is fuel line yes. Its a fuel shut off. I just did some digging. Checked timing. It's dead on. Checked all plugs. All very nice. I'm stumped. I have mac 4 into 1. And pods....bike came with pods so I figure it was jetted properly. But I will be putting a stock air box back on. I do have some popping from exhaust.

the big knob in the middle of the carbs is the idle adjustment.
