GT550 G7 Head Gasket
16 Apr 2013 12:38 - 16 Apr 2013 12:41
Hi!
This is the second time i buy a head gasket for the cylinder head cover, that doesn't fit. The first time I bought a aftermarket gasket, but this time I got the original ( 11060-1811), but still doesn't fit. The original no for the gasket is 11060-1329, but it has been replaced with 11060-1811 that I bought.
Here is some pictures of the cover and gasket, as you can se the gasket as wider ends than the cover.

Since we don't have GT550's in the States, I can't look up numbers for your exact bike, but looking at your photos, it appears you have a gasket for what we in the States call a Zephyr ZR550B.
Your valve cover appears to be modeled more closely (if not exactly) to a KZ550H, KZ550M, KZ550F, and ZX550A design.
Your cover doesn't have the emissions ports, but the gasket is the same with or without the ports.
I think you need gasket 11009-1539 (older version is 11009-1280).
Not the 11060-1811 (older versions were 11009-1808, 11060-1062, 11060-1262, 11060-1329).
If you find someone with a ZR550B, you can probably sell them the gaskets you have.
BTW, great photos!

Thank you very much for the quick and helpful answer, I looked at pictures of the 11009-1539 and it seems to be exactly the same. One problem solved now only a couple more left, I'm working on my Café build will post a thread here soon.
Big thanks from Sweden.
