Have you seen this exhaust?
02 Apr 2013 22:26
this is the exhaust that was on my 1978 KZ1000 B2 when I got it. I haven't been able to figure out anything about it. I know it's not the best pic. The muffler can says "pro street". any info would be appreciated. All I know is that it's pre- the year 2000.

They used to sell those in the denis kirk catalog. It was a cheaper budget exhaust.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configuration
If you're on a budget, you can keep that muffler part -- btw that system looks like a "knockoff" of the Yoshimura pipes of the day -- the rear cannister's final outlet stub and the size of the can are styled after the Yosh pipes, of which I had a few back then. I don't think it's a Yosh system though by the looks of the front side of the cannister -- which is sloping on your pipe there, while the Yosh systems were flat right there.
(See this ebay listing at )
1) buy a can of paint stripper to remove the paint from the cannister, which is probably 'brushed' aluminum - this is $8.98 at www.tcpglobal.com/spraypaintdepot/paint-removers.aspx
2) get some Mother's polish to clean up the can -- any hardware or auto parts or bike shop will have metal polish.
3) repaint the header and collector in high-temp black pain
4) good as new and your total outlay is $25 or less.
