Season prep work

Took a ride this weekend, winters over and I am recovering nicely from shoulder surgery. Now to the repairs-
1-Oil leaks from top end, gasket time and Orings at oil ports.I noticed when adding oil that the crankcase had pressure is this normal.Could this be the cause of increased oil burning? I rode all last summer and began to notice oil burning at the end of the season, the bike still ran strong, has about 18k miles. 83 Spectre 750.

Would sniff test and check the crankcase oil for possible fuel contamination.

Crankcase vent might be plugged.

Also a sign of worn rings. Worn out rings allow cylinder presure by them and then pressurizes the crankcase. A leak down check can confirm that.
