im doin a head gasket job and noticed that there is a slight seperation of base gasket do i need to replace gasket

I would if the cylinder has pulled away at the base.. I made one for mine out of the good gasket material at Auto Zone. I also sealed it with 3-bond.

you may be able to find a gasket kit for slightly more than just the head gasket itself.
