valves sticking noise???

kz750ltd 1980 I was out turning the crank with a wrench and the valves were clicking right before the rotor was even with the timing dealy. the ignition off and the engine cool it is kinda click.......click. (The exhaust valves smell like vitamin b-12)(the intake valves viewed via spark plug hole are black but clearing up) I am worried on how to clean up the exhaust valves-maybe something in the fuel would do the trick- I dumped an entire can of berrymans in the gas tank. upper cylinder lube?
