Primary chain

Hello Gang, I can't seem to find an answer to this question. I have my 78 kz650 motor off the frame
and replacing the gaskets. Since I have the bottom pan off, I looked at the primary chain. There is slack in the chain. Does anyone know just how much is allowed or should it be tight?

Thanks in advance for any and all info.

Take a look in the FSM. It describes how to measure the slack and gives the service limits. ed
