valve spring problen

hi can anyone tell me are the valve springs in a 82 kz1100 wider on one end than the other as ive just changed my valve stem seals and a couple of the tappet buckets are very tight , thanks Al

Yes they are - the tight (closely wound) end should go towards the head/valve spring seat (opposite the retainer).
