I have a 1980 KZ1000G that the kick starter won`t turn over the motor. Is there a part inside that is a common problem. The bike will turn over with the starter and has compression.

What happens when you kick it? Are you able to push the kicker all the way down, is it stuck at the top of the stroke, or does it just go down with no resistance? Ed

Are you by any chance pulling in the clutch lever when trying to use the kicker? If so, don't. That is only necessary when using the electric starter. Ed

Clutch lever should not be squeezed while attempting to kick-start.

Is clutch operating normally while riding the bike?

Is clutch cable properly adjusted?

Is clutch push-rod properly adjusted?

Good Fortune! :)
