Anyone out there using Pirelli MT66 Route tires on their KZ1000? Do they handle well on this rigid frame bike?
I plan to ride casually, at speeds no more than 70mph. Probably no more than a couple hundred miles per month, spring-fall.
Ultimately, am I better off staying with the Continental RB2?
Would really like to find good tires for this bike under $100 a piece.
Any suggestions welcome.

I haven't used them, but I use the Pirelli Sport Demons and they work very well. Ed

I have set of Kenda Challengers on my bike. Bought them for the price ($120 shipped to my home) and although I do some high speed riding 80+ from time to time, like yourself, I planned my riding to be casual. Heard good things about these tires from others here and that is why I bought them after having spent so much on the restoration. Having said that, the Kenda's got kind of trashed a bit on another forum I visit. But they were talking more spirited type of riding. Myself, I'm like a fish in a fish bowl. I haven't experienced anything to compare yet since getting back into riding. But my next project, which will be more handling oriented I will spend the money on a set of Metzlers or equivalent. So I would say stretch your budget and get the best rated tire you can. Don't go cheap like I did. I would think the Pirelli's are good choice though.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.
