If it's running good and has good compression, then the cams are probably right.
It's easy to check though, and there is that "peace of mind" thing.

Why don't you take the valve cover off and visually verify the correct timing?
If the cams are 180 out, just rotate the motor one revolution and the cams will be in time.
Think about it, cams turn at 1/2 engine rpm, so every other revolution they will be 180 out.
They can be out any other number though, just not 180.

Found problem with coil wiring info on manual. When replacing valve cover(page 74)says green coil wire goes to left coil (WRONG) finally found pdf manual online to correct the problem. Started right up. .Still not sure if I have the cam set up right. Compression stroke or exaust? Will it even run if the timing is 180 degess off? Any help?
Is this the 1981 kz 1000 ltd k-1 mentioned in an earlier thread?
Including information about bike year and model is helpful to viewers and usually elicits better responses.
It's easy to put the information in your signature where it shows in all posted messages, past and future.
And may be changed whenever and as often as desired.
If wanting a signature showing information about the bike in posted messages, it's easy to do. Here's how:
