G'day, I am starting to assemble my 1977 KZ650 B after soda blasting the engine and renewing gaskets and seals. I downloaded several pages from the Kawasaki website and I can't figure out where these O rings go. They are number 4 in the parts diagram, part number 92055-099 it says they are 8.8mm. I took heaps of photos as I was stripping the motor and I can't remember seeing them. It looks like they might go in the stud holes next to the cam chain well but I can't be sure.
Also when the cam chain idler is placed in the well are there rubber blocks that sit on the axle before the base gasket is placed into position, regards Neil

the orings are just to seal oil from coming up through studs as the holes are bored straight through cases i have seen them both ways w/o orings and with orings and yes they go around base of cyl studs myself i always used them, as for the rubber damper blocks they go directly on top the axle then base gasket goes on top.

Thanks for the info, the gasket kit I am using didn't have those O rings included so I might just put some high temp silicone round the base of the studs, regards Neil
