Hey Patton,
You might pass on the diagram you gave me on cleaning the passages on the carbs. That helped clear up my idling issues

Do each of the carbs at hand have a pilot screw located as illustrated in the following pics?

Here's one method to clean the pilot circuit ---
Wear eye protection, because the spray always backfires. ALWAYS.

If they been sitting for 15 years.... :pinch:
Couple things to look for first, replace/adjust as required...
* Inside tank condition, rusted, dirty gas, obstructed/junked petcock etc...
* Inline hoses and fuel filter condition....
* Crap bowls filled with crap....
* Throttle Cables hanging it up...
* Air filter condition...
Hell since it starts at least, go get a can of Seafoam and run it through thee tank, might clan some of that crap up.
* Valve clearances to spec...
* Ignition components & timing to spec...
* Coils, spark plugs, spark plug wires & cap to spec...
Maybe you've already gone through this and I missed it...

Yes it is. While probably not a cure-all, this procedure really smoothed out my idle. One change that I made was that I'd spray the carb cleaner, let it sit for 30 seconds, then hit it with compressed air.
+1 on the googles. Good to remember to keep your mouth closed too. :lol:

Also, the pilot jet (number 4) should be cleaned while it's removed and in hand.
It's okay to use a piece of wire to gently push through the pilot jet holes in order to help clean out any encrustation.
Should be able to hold the pilot jet up to the light and look through either end, seeing the small clear round orifice.
Keep the same float needles with their same float seats -- do not mix and match the needles and seats.
Keep the same float with the same carb.
While carbs are on the work-bench, would also do a proper bench sync, leaving sufficient idle screw thread remaining to further lower the carb slides after the carbs are re-installed onto the bike.
Good Fortune!
