head of 1980 KZ750H torquing? was created by Slowpoke
A friend and I are taking the head of and are going to be checking the piston rings but don't have the torque specs. I don't have the manual, though we've both been up and down a few engines. Does anybody have the torque specs for this specific model or know where I can find them online? and for free? Thanks!

The two smaller bolts are 22 Ft. Lbs. or 3.0 Kg-m. The twelve nuts should be 29 Ft. Lbs. or 4.0 Kg-m.

Don't torque the two in the cam chain tunnel - they will strip the thread or break. Just nip them up by hand.
Re-torque the others once the engine has been heat-cycled a couple of times.

Can anyone tell me if my 84 gpz750 has the same torque specs? I think it is the a1 if memory serves right. Thanks in advance.
