Try the valve clearances first if they are to tight you may get low readings like that

hits this dead spot about 5 minutes after starting every time I take it out maybe the valves are sticking.

I drained some oil and forgot to tighten the plug then put the last 4 oz of marvel mystery oil in the oil and it came out of the plug. after tightening it I went out again(45 miles today). every time I warm it up and go out 5-10 minutes it hits a dead spot like the plugs are coated in gas and once it goes away it just takes off, I got to keep my hand on the clutch.

Feed the troll, gotcha a post designed to piss people off.
That's not what this is, I just don't know how people are going to react to what I say(help please).
I actually think the dead horse can be brought back to life as it seems there is no clearance on the intake valves at all(less than .003).
I took the shims to my the shop and got them measured. I have a set of 5 that are 2 sizes smaller on the way. the ones in there are 2.45 I think.
although it would have been the same price to get them online with the shipping a lot faster but I don't own a measuring device, more tools to the pile.
nice to have a while to think about it anyways, I need to take a break from riding this thing, I am sore from my head to my feet.
