cams

quick question..currently runnung cams from an 82 gpz...just curious as to whether or not the larger cam should be in the intake or the exhaust??

On street bikes you run the same lift....when you get into serious race bikes you will see the different cams come into play. I really dont think you would benifit from it at all.

so id be better off with the stock cams...and are the stock 82 1000 cams the same? meaning lift on intake and exhaust??thanx for any input..

Im not sure if you have a matched set or not. I think they are but could be wrong. Why did you ask where the larger cam goes?

The 1982 GPz1100 (aka KZ1100-B2) cams (IN and EX) have identical profiles. The only difference is how they mount in the cam sprockets (= cam timing). Brianrae33, if your cams have different profiles, then you have a mixed set of cams or something other than 1982 GPz camshafts.

what about a custom ground cam?
