baldy110 wrote: By you asking that question leads me to believe you have never done a valve check / adjustment on tath engine, it has 10,000 miles on it. The recommended valve check intervals for that bike are 3,000 miles. If you are going to replace those end plugs might as well check the valve clearance.
Thanks for the info I definitely haven't.
Guess I better start printing off pages from the manual

wireman wrote: Those style caps have the bolts through them so blow outs shouldnt be a problem,Id clean them up and reinstall with a little 3bond around the curved part and new valve cover gasket after checking valves
So don't bother replacing them? I can see the corners of the 1/2 moon shape starting to "curl" out away from the motor so I assumed they were starting to come out. After a few hundred miles I have light oil build up on the heat sinks. Not quite to a drip yet but there's definitely oil making its way out. I figured for $15 why not lol.

Is it the bolt going through the center that makes it tough to get a seal in there to seal aluminum ones Jay?
I always figured that was why you guys didnt make them
