New guy needs some help...

Intake clearances:

1 .0015 2 .004 3 .005 4 .004

Exhaust clearances:

1 .005 2 .0015 3 .008 4 .005

So I have one exhaust and one intake on the tight side. These will have to be adjusted.

Should I worry about the .008 exhaust valve?

Looking at the service manual I see the special tool to hold the bucket down while using the camshaft to depress it. Is it safe to move the camshaft out of the way of the shim to remove it?
I guess my question is there clearance between the valve and piston?

Thanks in advance,

George

You May be able to swap the shims around on the tight and the loose. Maybe that is. But those tight ones .0015", are bad news. The .008" is to loose, I'd get it to the .005 or .004" setting on the EX.
